Community Profile
According to the legend, the first Greek to set foot on South African soil was a convict known simply as "Stephanos", who later became the prophet and chief of the Kora tribe. Today thousands of Greeks remain in South Africa, however, the high crime rate and other economic issues issues have led many Greeks to return to their homeland or flock to Australia, England and Canada.
